People (both adults and children) with type 1 diabetes attending specialist secondary care clinics for their diabetes and who have been assessed by their specialist to meet the prevailing NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly criteria (as detailed in the NHS Cornwall Commissioning policies 2022 to 2023 which is available in the above link) for interstitial continuous glucose monitoring (isCGM) (also known as flash glucose monitoring or FreeStyle Libre) and who: need for alternative site to upper arm, with site reaction to isCGM (hypersensitivity), with preference for rtGCM, with accuracy concerns with isCGM for example, sensor connection, requiring continuous access to glucose trends for example, alongside an insulin pump or unable to scan sensor pacemaker
